{"id":15039,"date":"2026-01-30T10:34:28","date_gmt":"2026-01-30T10:34:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cyber40.it\/cyborg-project-secure-in-vehicle-communication-systems-based-on-blockchain\/"},"modified":"2026-01-30T10:49:14","modified_gmt":"2026-01-30T10:49:14","slug":"cyborg-project-secure-in-vehicle-communication-systems-based-on-blockchain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cyber40.it\/en\/cyborg-project-secure-in-vehicle-communication-systems-based-on-blockchain\/","title":{"rendered":"CYBORG project &#8211; Secure in-vehicle communication systems based on blockchain"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>CYBORG is one of the projects selected under the Cyber 4.0 calls dedicated to technology transfer, co-funding of high technology maturity initiatives and development of advanced prototypes.<\/p>\n\n<p>The initiative, promoted by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiolabs.it\">Radiolabs<\/a> <\/strong>in partnership with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.drivesec.com\">Drivesec S.r.l.<\/a><\/strong> and with the contribution of the<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.univaq.it\">University of L&#8217;Aquila<\/a><\/strong>, develops <strong>a security architecture for intra-vehicle environments<\/strong> designed to ensure the integrity, authenticity and reliability of data exchanged between on-board ECUs, with a focus on location information, crucial for connected and autonomous driving systems.<\/p>\n\n<p>CYBORG realizes a passive cyber attack protection system<strong>that can ensure business continuity and resilience<\/strong> by introducing advanced forensically relevant data authentication mechanisms and ensuring certified traceability of critical information.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cyber40.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/CYBORG_social_dissemination_nographic-1024x576.png\" alt=\"CYBORG Project\" class=\"wp-image-15036\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cyber40.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/CYBORG_social_dissemination_nographic-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.cyber40.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/CYBORG_social_dissemination_nographic-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/www.cyber40.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/CYBORG_social_dissemination_nographic-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/www.cyber40.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/CYBORG_social_dissemination_nographic-1536x864.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.cyber40.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/CYBORG_social_dissemination_nographic-200x113.png 200w, https:\/\/www.cyber40.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/CYBORG_social_dissemination_nographic.png 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p><strong>Innovative elements<\/strong> of the project include:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Location security<\/strong> directly on ECUs, applied to the automotive mainstream;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Authenticated data sequences<\/strong> available for forensic analysis and to support process accountability;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Built-in <strong>quantum-resistant protection<\/strong> from the first engineering, in line with new post-quantum standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>From a technological perspective, the initiative integrates blockchain, post-quantum cryptography and a distributed computing model directly implemented on the ECUs, along with the evolution of the Crypto Engine module toward &#8220;quantum-resistant&#8221; algorithms in line with new directions in international standardization.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Scope of application  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Automotive and connected vehicles;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research on post-quantum cryptography applied to the automotive industry;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Smart mobility, rail and maritime.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>The project, co-funded by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cyber40.it\/en\/\">Cyber 4.0<\/a><\/strong>, contributes to the development of concrete solutions for more secure, resilient and technologically advanced mobility.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CYBORG is one of the projects selected under the Cyber 4.0 calls dedicated to technology transfer, co-funding of high technology maturity initiatives and development of advanced prototypes.
