Cyber 4.0 among technology transfer centers to benefit from MIMIT funding decree.
The decree allocated a total of 350 million euros, funds provided in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, to European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) co-funded by the European Union, EDIHs with the European Commission’s “Seal of Excellence,” and the eight national centers of competence, established by MIMIT under the Industry 4.0 plan in 2018. Considered implementing entities, the national centers of competence are recipients of 113.4 million euros under the decree.
“This waslong overdue news that confirms the strategic importance of Competence Centers in the design of strengthening and industrial development of the Country System,” says Leonardo Querzoni, president of Cyber 4.0. The action of Cyber 4.0 comes to be significantly strengthened as an interface with the industrial world, and in particular SMEs, on cybersecurity issues, both in terms of ability to deliver services and to strengthen test-before-invest infrastructures.
Moreover, the Center is doubly impacted, since it is also the coordinator of a European Digital Innovation Hub, whose action will also receive support under the same Pnrr budget line. Last but not least, this will also enable the Center to act as a pivot in the implementation of the National Cybersecurity Strategy, becoming an operational tool to boost the market for national cyber solutions and achieve technological autonomy.”
