What is the current impact of cybercrime on SMEs?

In 2021, 28 percent of SMEs in Europe experienced at least one cybercrime event. The COVID-19 crisis has further propelled the Digital Transformation of SMEs but, at the same time, has also brought increased exposure to cybercrime activities.

The European Commission analyzed the phenomenon in its latest Eurobarometer report, “Cybercrime and SMEs,” released this month.

What is the level of staff awareness? What experiences have been developed by SMEs and what are the channels for reporting to the relevant authorities?
