Rome, April 18, 2025 – At the Cyber 4.0 headquarters on April 10, 2025, the Members’ Meeting voted to elect the new governance of the National Highly Specialized Center of Expertise for Cyber 4.0 cybersecurity, one of eight highly specialized centers of expertise funded by the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy (MIMIT). The newly elected will serve for the three-year term 2025-2027.
Former President Leonardo Querzoni is succeeded by Paolo Spagnoletti, full professor of Business Organization at Luiss Guido Carli University. Spagnoletti brings with him solid academic experience and a strategic vision for the country’s digital future.
“I have had the privilege of participating in Cyber 4.0 since its inception, sharing with the representatives of the founding members the strong motivation to promote secure digitization. In today’s complex environment, it is unthinkable to achieve this through vertical integration models: we need networks of complementary skills, coordinated with vision and responsibility. Cyber 4.0 has already proven to be a national excellence and, thanks to the trust of MIMIT, ACN and MAECI, now has the opportunity to establish itself at the European level as well. With the commitment of the team, the skills of the members and the support of the institutions, we want to show that digital security is a strategic lever for sustainable development and for the enhancement of skills, present and future, that the country needs,” said Paolo Spagnoletti, newly appointed president of Cyber 4.0.
Joining him as vice president is Professor Vincenzo Tagliaferri, pro-rector for technology transfer at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, a leading figure in research-industry dialogue, who replaces former Vice President, Fabio Cocurullo, VP Grants & Projects Leonardo Cyber & Security Solutions Division.
As per the bylaws, the chairmanship has seen a representative from the public sector alternate with one from the private sector in order to strengthen collaboration between universities and business and with the goal of promoting technological innovation and digital security nationwide .
“Cyber 4.0 is also a network of people, skills and shared values. My journey as president was made possible by the contribution of those who believed in the mission of building a culture of digital security for Italy and Europe. It is with a spirit of continuity and full confidence that I pass the baton to Professor Paolo Spagnoletti, confident that he will be able to lead our Competence Center with dedication and strategic vision,” said former President Leonardo Querzoni at the conclusion of his term.
The Members’ Meeting also voted to renew the Coordination and Management Committee(CCG) and the Scientific and Steering Committee.
Cyber 4.0 extends its congratulations to the newly elected members and prepares to continue its commitment to the growth of cybersecurity culture and technology transfer throughout the country.
