Doctoral students Francesca Nanni and Francesco Lestini, Medical Engineers, won the“1st National Award for Cybersecurity and Information Legality,” organized by the New Carabinieri Syndicate (NSC) and the Confederation of European Associations of Professionals and Enterprises (AEPI), in collaboration with theUniversity of Rome Tor Vergata and theNational Association of Police Officers (ANFP).

The award was given for their outstanding contribution to the ” spread of cyber security and legality,” demonstrated through their contribution in the creation of “CYBER4HEALTH: the Observatory on cyber and physical vulnerabilities of medical devices.”
The Cyber4Health (C4H) project, promoted by the University of Rome Tor Vergata, under the supervision of Prof. Gaetano Marrocco, and in collaboration with Cyber 4.0, is an innovative, nonprofit initiative to create the first Observatory on Cyber and Physical Vulnerabilities of Medical Devices, with the goal of collecting and classifying all available information on cyber or physical vulnerabilities of medical devices.

Cyber4Health was launched online on May 17, 2023, during its first workshop, and the site is still operational today at: https://cyber4health.uniroma2.it

The award ceremony took place during the conference “AI and Cybersecurity: Technology at the Service of the Future,” held on Sept. 18, 2024 at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome, as part of the “Rome Future Week” project.
