Cyber 4.0, Lazio Region and MUR sign a Memorandum of Understanding for the activation and promotion of ACL training paths. A lifelong learning initiative in the joint interest of fully implementing European legislation and national and regional strategies on information security of the national digital ecosystem.
In recent years, awareness of the risks related to the management of networks, information systems and IT services in the public sector from intrusions perpetrated with the deliberate intent to cause the malfunction or disruption of essential services for citizens and businesses has also risen sharply as a result of the recent attacks suffered by some Administrations.
With the agreement between the National Cybersecurity Agency and the Lazio Region active since last March, the areas of collaboration have been defined, including the promotion of training, technical-professional growth and qualification of human resources in the field of cybersecurity, particularly in the establishment of theLazio Cybersecurity Academy (ACL) .
With the aim of making the Academy fully operational, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed on July 26, 2022, between the Lazio Region, MUR (Regional School Office for Lazio) and Cyber 4.0, to foster collaboration on content and evolutionary strategic lines that will enable:
- Define the training strategy, supporting the planning, delivery and implementation of courses;
- Develop partnerships with companies in the industry to implement job placement plans;
- strengthen the staffing of the Lazio Region and its dependent entities with new personnel with cybersecurity expertise.
In this context, Cyber 4.0 will provide guidance for the composition of ACL’s training offerings in synergy with existing programs and with the training standards provided at the community level. It will also develop initiatives for the involvement of faculty and trainers from the Center and its affiliated universities, in parallel with actions to promote the Academy to students and other potential interested counterparts.
The Center will also be facilitator of the interlocution with the academy to verify the possibility of recognition of college credits for students coming from the academy.
The collaborative activity is defined according to the strategic lines agreed upon periodically between the parties, including through the establishment of a joint scientific committee.
The Lazio Cybersecurity Academy will open to more than 80 students for this first year, which is expected to be increased in the years to follow. It starts in September with the Cybersecurity Technician course.
