Cyber 4.0 participated in “CyberSEcurIT – Cybersecurity Synergy between Sweden and Italy,” an initiative held on June 22 and 23 in Stockholm that brought together representatives from academia, industry, and government in both countries to strengthen cooperation on cybersecurity.

Organized by theUniversity of Padua, theÖrebro University , and the Kungliga Tekniska högskolan, in collaboration withthe Italian Embassy in Stockholm, the event brought together about 40 experts from universities, institutions, and companies.

During the proceedings, theItalian Ambassador to Stockholm Michele Pala emphasizedthe importance of international strategic partnerships in the technology sector, highlighting Italy’s contribution to the development of secure technology ecosystems and the role of the Nordic countries—particularly Sweden—within the European and NATO contexts, thereby confirming the central importance of cooperation among national research, industry, and innovation ecosystems.

Cyber 4.0’s contribution also fits into this context.

In his remarks, Paolo Spagnoletti, President of Cyber 4.0, offered some reflections on the topic of “Cyber Capacity Building for an Interdependent World,” highlighting how the growing convergence of artificial intelligence, cyber-physical systems, and digital infrastructure is redefining the scope of digital security.

In this context, cyber capacity is understood as the collective ability to coordinate among institutions, businesses, research organizations, and civil society, coupled with the development of skills, relationships, and forms of cooperation capable of supporting secure digitalization in an increasingly interdependent world.

The initiative provided an opportunity to discuss prospects for collaboration between Italy and Sweden, with the aim of leveraging expertise, research, and innovation and contributing to the development of more secure and resilient digital systems.

Cyber 4.0 participated in the event, contributing to the discussion on cyber capacity and the role of cooperation among research, industry, and institutions in developing cybersecurity skills.
